How to connect Telegram

Open the AI employee’s Channels & Apps page
Pick the AI employee you want available in Telegram and click the Telegram tile.

Authorize via Telegram bot link
We provision a bot for you and link it to your account. No need to talk to BotFather or manage tokens yourself.

Start chatting or add to a group
Open the chat link we generate and send your first message. To use in a group, add the bot and grant message permission.

Optional: enable group auto-respond
Want the bot to reply to anyone in a group, not just direct mentions? Toggle auto-respond per chat in your settings.

What it doesn’t do (yet)
We’d rather be upfront about the edges than promise things we don’t deliver.
- Voice notes are transcribed for context but the bot replies in text.
- Inline-mode results (typing @bot in any chat) are not supported yet.
- File uploads from the bot back to chat are limited to text and links.

Is the integration free to install?
Yes. Setup is free. You only pay for runs your AI employee actually performs (typically a fraction of a cent each — see /pricing). New accounts start with $10 in free credits.
Do I need to register my own Telegram bot?
No. Oya provisions and manages the bot for you. You authorize it from your dashboard and we handle tokens, refresh, and webhook routing in the background.
Can I use the same AI employee in Slack and Telegram at once?
Yes. Channels are independent connections. Connect the same employee to both and it’ll respond in either with the same memory and skills.
How do I disconnect Telegram?
Open the Channels & Apps page on the AI employee, find Telegram, and click Disconnect. We immediately stop responding and revoke the bot’s access.
How is my conversation data handled?
Telegram messages your AI employee sees are processed for the run and stored in your run history so you can audit what happened. We do not use your data to train any AI model. See our Privacy Policy.
A note on AI accuracy
Oya’s AI employees are powered by large language models and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date responses. They are tools to assist your work, not authoritative sources. Always verify important information — especially numbers, dates, names, and any business or financial action — before relying on AI-generated output. If your AI employee suggests a destructive action (deleting data, sending money, posting publicly), confirm it yourself before approving.
No model training
Your data is not used to train AI models. It’s used to do the work you asked for, then logged in your run history for your audit.
