Connect Slack to your Oya account
Open your AI employee’s Channels & Apps page, click Slack, and authorize Oya to install in your workspace. We only request the scopes needed for messaging.

Pick which employee handles the workspace
You can route each Slack workspace to a specific AI employee, or run multiple employees side by side — your call.

Mention or DM to start
In any channel, type @your-employee plus your question. In a DM, just send the message. The employee replies with the same skills, memory, and tools it uses everywhere.

Set auto-respond rules (optional)
Want the employee to monitor a channel and reply to anyone — not just direct mentions? Enable auto-respond per channel from the Slack settings panel.

What it doesn’t do (yet)
We’d rather be upfront about the edges than promise things we don’t deliver.
- Voice notes and video messages — text only for now.
- File attachments are read-only — your employee can see what was sent but cannot upload files back.
- Slack Workflow Builder integration — schedule recurring tasks in Routines instead.

Is the integration free to install?
Yes. Setup is free and we charge nothing for connecting Slack. You only pay for the runs your AI employee actually performs (typically a fraction of a cent each — see /pricing for examples). New accounts start with $10 in free credits.
What permissions does Oya request from Slack?
The minimum scopes needed for two-way messaging — reading the channels you’ve added the bot to, posting messages, opening DMs, and reading user/channel metadata. We do not read channels the bot has not been invited to.
Will the AI employee reply to every message in my channel?
Only when mentioned (@your-employee) by default. If you want it to monitor and reply to a specific channel without explicit mentions, you can opt-in to auto-respond on a per-channel basis.
Can I connect multiple Slack workspaces to one Oya account?
Yes. Connect as many Slack workspaces as you need. Each workspace is its own connection and you choose which AI employee handles it.
How do I disconnect Slack?
Open the agent’s Channels & Apps page, find Slack, and click Disconnect. We immediately revoke our Slack tokens and stop responding. You can also remove Oya from your Slack workspace’s Apps directory.
How is my conversation data handled?
Slack messages your AI employee sees are processed for the run it’s currently doing and stored in your account’s run history so you can audit what happened. We do not use your data to train any AI model. See our Privacy Policy for details.
A note on AI accuracy
Oya’s AI employees are powered by large language models and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date responses. They are tools to assist your work, not authoritative sources. Always verify important information — especially numbers, dates, names, and any business or financial action — before relying on AI-generated output. If your AI employee suggests a destructive action (deleting data, sending money, posting publicly), confirm it yourself before approving.
No model training
Your data is not used to train AI models. It’s used to do the work you asked for, then logged in your run history for your audit.
