How to connect Hunter

Pick the AI employee responsible for outreach and click the Hunter tile.

Authorize via Hunter API key
Generate a key in your Hunter dashboard and paste it into Oya. We store it securely.

Decide whether the AI should skip emails below a deliverability threshold (e.g. anything not "valid").

What it doesn’t do (yet)
We’d rather be upfront about the edges than promise things we don’t deliver.
- Hunter API quotas apply — you’ll hit them before Oya’s own limits if you do high volume.
- Email-find accuracy varies by domain. Hunter exposes a confidence score; the AI employee respects it.
- Some catch-all domains can’t be verified definitively — Hunter flags these and the AI flags them in turn.
Frequently asked
Is my Hunter API key safe?
Yes. We encrypt and store it server-side. The key is only used for the runs your AI employee initiates and never exposed in logs.
Do I need a Hunter subscription?
Yes. Hunter charges per email-find / verification on their plan. Oya does not resell Hunter — you control your usage there.
What if Hunter can’t find the email?
The AI employee flags the lead as "no email found" and (optionally) tries a fallback enrichment provider before giving up.
How do I disconnect?
Open Channels & Apps, find Hunter, click Disconnect. We delete your stored key immediately.
How is the data handled?
Lookup data is processed for the active run and stored in your run history for audit. We do not use your data to train any AI model.
A note on AI accuracy
Oya’s AI employees are powered by large language models and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date responses. They are tools to assist your work, not authoritative sources. Always verify important information — especially numbers, dates, names, and any business or financial action — before relying on AI-generated output. If your AI employee suggests a destructive action (deleting data, sending money, posting publicly), confirm it yourself before approving.
No model training
Your data is not used to train AI models. It’s used to do the work you asked for, then logged in your run history for your audit.
