Let your AI employee read your Drive.
Connect Google Drive once and your AI employee can find, read, and act on any file you have access to — Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDFs, images, and more — without you copy-pasting content into a prompt.
What it does
Search files and folders
Find a contract, a meeting note, or a spec by description — your AI employee searches Drive the same way you would.
Read and summarize
Pull the contents of any Doc, PDF, or text file into the run. Summarize, extract specific fields, or feed it to a downstream skill.
Create and update
Generate a new Doc, append to an existing one, or move files between folders — all with a clear audit trail.
How to connect Google Drive
- 1
Open the Channels & Apps page
Pick the AI employee that needs Drive and click the Google Drive tile.
- 2
Authorize via Google
Sign in with the Google account that owns the Drive content. We request the minimum scopes for read/write file access.
- 3
Choose folders or "All Drive"
Scope the AI employee’s access to specific folders or grant access to your entire Drive. You stay in control.
- 4
Test with a sample query
Ask the AI employee something like "find last month’s pricing notes and summarize the key points" to confirm access works.

What it doesn’t do (yet)
We’d rather be upfront about the edges than promise things we don’t deliver.
- Files in Shared Drives require explicit re-auth for that drive.
- Files larger than ~10 MB are summarized rather than fully ingested in one pass.
- Folder permissions are respected — if you can’t see a file, neither can the AI.
Frequently asked
Does Oya store my Drive files?
No. We read what’s needed for the active run and discard the contents afterwards. Only the run’s tool calls and result are kept in your audit log.
Can I limit what the AI employee can edit?
Yes. Scope the OAuth grant to specific folders, or use read-only mode in your agent settings. You can also require human approval before any write.
Does it work with Shared Drives?
Yes. Shared Drives are supported, but you must re-authorize specifically for each shared drive you want the AI to access.
How do I disconnect Drive?
Open Channels & Apps, find Google Drive, and click Disconnect. We revoke our OAuth tokens immediately.
How is the data handled?
File contents are processed for the active run and never used to train any AI model. The full prompt and response are saved in your run history for audit.
A note on AI accuracy
Oya’s AI employees are powered by large language models and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date responses. They are tools to assist your work, not authoritative sources. Always verify important information — especially numbers, dates, names, and any business or financial action — before relying on AI-generated output. If your AI employee suggests a destructive action (deleting data, sending money, posting publicly), confirm it yourself before approving.
No model training
Your data is not used to train AI models. It’s used to do the work you asked for, then logged in your run history for your audit.
Full audit trail
Every AI employee action maps to a run in Oya. Inputs, outputs, tools used, cost — all visible and auditable.
