How to connect Facebook Messenger

    Open the Channels & Apps page

    Pick the AI employee that should handle Messenger and click the Messenger tile.

    Authorize via Meta

    Sign in to the Facebook account that admins your Page and grant Oya the messaging scopes for that Page.

    Pick the Page(s) to handle

    You can connect one or many Pages and assign each to a different AI employee.

    Configure when the bot is active, which topics trigger a human handoff, and any compliance disclaimers to include.

What it doesn’t do (yet)

We’d rather be upfront about the edges than promise things we don’t deliver.

  • Personal-profile messaging is not supported by Meta — Pages only.
  • Outbound proactive messages outside the 24-hour customer window require a Meta-approved template.
  • Voice and video messages are not supported yet.

Frequently asked

Does this work with personal Facebook profiles?

No. Meta only allows automated messaging for Pages. The AI employee operates as your Page persona, not as your personal account.

Can I connect more than one Page?

Yes. Connect as many Pages as you admin. Each can be routed to a different AI employee or share one.

What happens after Messenger’s 24-hour window closes?

You can only send proactive (non-reply) messages using Meta-approved tags or templates. Within the 24-hour window from the customer’s last message, you can reply freely.

How do I disconnect?

From the Channels & Apps page, click Disconnect on Messenger. We revoke Page-messaging scopes immediately.

How is the data handled?

Messages your AI employee sees are processed for the run and stored in run history for audit. We do not use your data to train any AI model.

A note on AI accuracy

Oya’s AI employees are powered by large language models and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date responses. They are tools to assist your work, not authoritative sources. Always verify important information — especially numbers, dates, names, and any business or financial action — before relying on AI-generated output. If your AI employee suggests a destructive action (deleting data, sending money, posting publicly), confirm it yourself before approving.

No model training

Your data is not used to train AI models. It’s used to do the work you asked for, then logged in your run history for your audit.
