AI employees, native to your Discord server.
Drop an Oya AI employee into your Discord server to triage community questions, post updates, run scheduled tasks, and reply to DMs. They live as a real Discord bot — same skills, same memory, same audit trail you get everywhere else.
What it does
Channel-scoped responses
Add the bot to specific channels. It only sees and replies in channels you authorize — perfect for #support, #onboarding, or #ai-help without exposing the whole server.
Mentions and DMs
Members mention @your-employee in a channel and the bot replies in-thread. They can also open a DM for private 1-on-1 questions — both flows work out of the box.
Many employees, one server
A community manager, a support agent, and a content scheduler can all live in the same Discord server, each scoped to its own channels and tasks.
How to connect Discord
- 1
Authorize Oya from your AI employee
Open Channels & Apps on your employee, click Discord, and pick the server you want to add the bot to. You need Manage Server permission on that server.
- 2
Choose channels to expose
Add the Oya bot to specific channels — only those channels are visible to your employee. Members in other channels can still DM the bot if you allow DMs.
- 3
Mention the bot or DM it
In any added channel, members type @your-employee plus their question. The bot replies in-thread. Direct messages work the same way.
- 4
Schedule community routines (optional)
Wire your employee’s Routines to post weekly digests, welcome new members, or ping a channel when an external trigger fires — all without anyone manually mentioning the bot.

What it doesn’t do (yet)
We’d rather be upfront about the edges than promise things we don’t deliver.
- Voice and stage channels — text only.
- Slash commands and rich button interactions — the bot replies in plain markdown today.
- Server moderation actions (banning, kicking, role assignment) — not yet exposed; for safety we keep moderation in human hands.
Frequently asked
Does the bot post to every channel in my server?
No. It only sees and posts in channels you explicitly add it to. The default is opt-in — adding the bot to your server doesn’t grant it access to anything until you bring it into a channel.
Can community members DM the bot?
Yes, if you enable DMs in the bot’s settings. DMs are private to the user and the bot — no other members see them. You can disable DMs and restrict it to channel mentions only.
Can I run multiple AI employees in one Discord server?
Yes. Each AI employee shows up as its own bot user (with its own name and avatar), so members can mention exactly the one they want.
Can the bot moderate (ban/kick/role) members?
Not today. We deliberately don’t expose destructive moderation actions to AI employees because the cost of a wrong moderation call is high. You can configure your employee to flag messages and notify a human moderator instead.
How do I remove the bot?
Disconnect Discord from the agent’s Channels & Apps page, or remove the bot from your server’s integrations panel. Both immediately revoke our access.
Does Oya use my Discord conversations to train models?
No. Conversations are processed to answer the message your employee was mentioned in, then logged in your run history for your audit. Data is not used to train any AI model.
A note on AI accuracy
Oya’s AI employees are powered by large language models and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date responses. They are tools to assist your work, not authoritative sources. Always verify important information — especially numbers, dates, names, and any business or financial action — before relying on AI-generated output. If your AI employee suggests a destructive action (deleting data, sending money, posting publicly), confirm it yourself before approving.
No model training
Your data is not used to train AI models. It’s used to do the work you asked for, then logged in your run history for your audit.
Full audit trail
Every AI employee action maps to a run in Oya. Inputs, outputs, tools used, cost — all visible and auditable.
